My name is Ikjyot (Joty) Rehal, a Registered Clinical Counsellor with British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (#18751) and Founder of Thriving Hearts Therapy Clinic.
Most of the times my clients arrive to therapy feeling alone, overwhelmed and don’t know how to cope. They have tried their best to deal with their challenges, and sometimes to ignore them, but there is a feeling of “stuckness”.

Together with you, I help facilitate coping, which brings a sense of clarity, relief and empowerment for my clients. I help my you hold, unpack, and process the difficult experiences so that you develop confidence to manage difficult emotions.
I provide safe, empathetic and collaborative space for my clients to help them learn coping skills so that they can become the best versions of themselves. I believe in the power of connection and safety in counselling practice which brings transformative experiences for clients.
I am trained and skilled to work with anxiety, depression, workplace burnout, stress, sexual or childhood trauma, and relationship and marriage conflicts. As an anxiety and trauma therapist, I specialize working with narcissistic abuse, childhood trauma, past narcissistic abuse by toxic parents, codependency, boundary issues and people who struggle in dating and relationships. I assist couples communicate and build trust. After my Masters degree, I received additional training in Gottman Method, which is effective for relationship counselling, and I am also trained in EFT, which I use to work with anxiety, depression and relationship's conflicts. My treatment modalities are supported by research and neuroscience.
